A landlord in Germany decided to take a different approach to a rent arrears issue at his investment property. Rather than send remedy breach notices he arrived with his chainsaw whirring a police spokesman said this week! The frightened tenants called police to the scene, and the 45-year-old man eventually dropped the chainsaw when the officers showed their guns.
The spokesman said the landlord was apparently trying to collect €13,000 in rent on a flat in the southern town of Burgau. He was charged with threatening bodily harm.
Probably would have been better off employing a good property manager to do the chasing for him!
