Why am I paying for that?!
There's a big gap in our state's property industry - body corporate information. Real estate agents get no training so few can explain anything to buyers. Solicitors compete heavily for very price sensitive conveyancing so don't have time. So most apartment owners receive their first wad of paperwork and voting papers with little idea of how it all works.
We recently held the first in a series of free seminars to help change this. If you'd like to read the notes downoad them here, or email us if you'd like info on upcoming sessions.
South Brisbane

Despite its early indigenous residents naming the area "Kurilpa" meaning 'place of rats', South Brisbane is today one of the inner city's most sought-after suburbs.  In early European settlement it was home to wharves, commerce and industry, and by the early 1980's much of the area was tired and underdeveloped.

a vision of 2020...
Bees Nees hosted a seminar on May 19th 2008 where we looked at the future of property in South Brisbane, West End and Highgate Hill. If you'd like to read the notes download a PDF copy, with our compliments.
Woolloongabba

Situated 1.5km's South of Brisbane's CBD, Woolloongabba was originally known as "One Mile Swamp" and its early population consisted largely of Russian immigrants. The first sale of 32 perches (800m2) of land occurred in 1864. Up until the 1960's Woolloongabba was a thriving community based around its transport hub. When the rail depot shut down and construction on the South East Freeway began a lot of local businesses in the area moved out, leaving the suburb as a forgotten inner city gem.

Brisbane City

A residential address since 1825, Brisbane's CBD was first used by white settlers to house their nastier types, the twice-convicted prisoners. Despite the commercial growth nudging homes out at a great pace throughout the last century, the city heart has always had a resident community. But it was only in the 1990's that the western world phenomenon of inner city living really took hold in downtown Brissy.

Spring Hill

Brisbane’s oldest suburb continues to be one of its most sought-after and while there might be no evidence of the old water sources that gave Spring Hill its name, the views and breezes on offer from many of its hilltop locations add to the area’s enduring appeal. It’s a suburb rich in local history and some of the first Europeans’ marks on this city can still be found.

West End

Like much of the inner south West End’s early white settlers were mostly working class.  It’s today become one of our city’s most expensive addresses but its battler and slightly eclectic reputation persist. As much as Queenslanders like to think we're a little different to our southern cousins, many West Enders are keen to march a step out of time to the rest of Brisbane.

Highgate Hill

With its highest point more than 60 metres above sea level this suburb is well and truly one of inner Brisbane's highest land areas. Today of course that same elevation is a huge drawcard for residents, capturing stunning views and breezes. Homes are tightly held and for its size the suburb records very few sales each year.
