The Boot Factory
The Old Boot Factory

In 2006 the owners of Bees Nees City Realty, Rob and Keryn Honeycombe teamed up with Rob's dad John to purchase this landmark South Brisbane building at 17 Cordelia Street.
Bootmakers Astill and Freeman had the building constructed in 1897 and the two storey brick warehouse has been recognised by Brisbane City Council for its heritage significance. In 2000 they placed the building on their heritage register. (Read their full citation here.) The last of its industrial use ceased in the early 1990's and in recent years the building's been home to a design college and was showing every bit of its 109 year age!

As its new owners we're delighted to have now given this grand old dame a well deserved facelift, in September 2007 completing an $800,000 renovation program. The building is now again a vibrant, colourful and busy place of work. Bees Nees City Realty occupies the ground floor offices as part of a serviced office business, aptly titled "The Old Boot Factory" and the upper floor is being leased.
And a new era for this proud piece of architecture has begun!
