Led by Rob Honeycombe, Bees Nees have a track record few project marketers can match. Here’s some of his background:

State Manager - Sales and Marketing: Austcorp Limited
Austcorp is an unlisted public company headquartered in Sydney, with turnover of approx $140m pa. Its ambitious growth in both land and apartment markets led to the creation of this role where Rob oversaw sales and marketing for projects with a value of approx $2 billion. Austcorp Group projects included:

  • “Vision”: $720m a 79 storey tower in the Brisbane CBD; 380 apartments
  • “SW1”: $210m 220 apartments at South Bank.
  • “Custom”: $52m 72 apartments and terrace homes at Newstead.
  • Coomera Waters Marina Village”: $115m 136 waterfront apartments
  • “Coomera Waters”: $550m, 1500 lot community in the Gold Coast corridor.

Rob managed both internal and external sales teams, co-ordinating three ad agencies and two public relations companies. The breathaking $4m Vision display gallery was one of that project’s marketing highlights, along with an integrated promotional campaign using television, an interactive website and a hot air balloon!

Brisbane GM & Project Marketing Director : Honeycombes Property Group

A property development, construction, real estate sales and property management business with a turnover of approx $40 million p.a., HPG employed some 60 staff in its Townsville and Brisbane offices. While leading the Brisbane team and with responsibility for site acquisition in this city, Rob’s key role was the sales and marketing of the company’s residential projects. Recent projects included:

  • “Oxygen” Spring Hill, Brisbane. The first stage included 191 apartments and Rob identified this site with a market-driven focus on finding a CBD project that would allow a large green space.
  • “Highpoint”– 92 apartments overlooking Townsville’s CBD.
  • “The Galleria” South Bank, Brisbane – 68 apartments
  • “Ikon” Indooroopilly, Brisbane – 48 apartments.
  • “Urban Quarter” Townsville – 138 apartments over 3 buildings.
  • “Metro Quays” Townsville CBD – the conversion of a 1000 bay multi-storey carpark into 92 apartments and 900m2 of retail.An innovative and enormously successful project that put HPG on the Queensland development map.

Rob left HPG in January 2004 and is no longer a director or shareholder. Throughout his time with the company 90% of Rob’s days were spent dealing with buyers. His understanding of developers’ broader issues ensures he’s a strong and capable project marketer who can provide advice and market knowledge that’s focussed on achieving higher project margins.
