Herbst to lead peak body’s “voice for salespeople”

Congrats today to our Sales Manager Rebecca Herbst who has just been elected to lead the Sales Chapter of the Real Estate Institute of Qld! This committee provides property salespeople across the state with a voice at the REIQ and shares the vision of the peak body with members.

Brisbane real estate agentRebecca says, “I’m honoured to have been chosen by my peers in the REIQ residential sales chapter to be Chair for the next 2 years, and look forward to working with the chapter and salespeople in the profession to identify issues that affect us every day and work out solutions, as well as assist the REIQ Board with feedback on legislative changes.”

Rebecca joined the real estate profession in 1997 and the Bees Nees team in 2014. We’re very proud to have her leading our sales team and can’t wait to see what she’ll achieve in her new role!

Bees Nees General Manager Clint Dowdell-Smith has also been reappointed as Chair of the REIQ’s Property Management Chapter. Clint was recently selected for a 3rd term on the group and has now been re-elected by the committee to be their Chair.

Clint says there’s lots ahead for Queensland’s property managers in 2018. “The review of the tenancies legislation is happening and we want practical and fair outcomes for landlords and agents. Our Committee will also be working with REIQ’s leadership to see how tenancy disputes can be better handled so we can minimise the big delays currently being witnessed in QCAT. It’s in the interests of all involved, including tenants, for there to be an efficient process.”

The Bees Nees Realty team are heavily involved in training, education, and working toward higher standards for the real estate profession. So it’s no surprise to see them getting involved with the peak body. Managing Director Rob was recently reappointed as the REIQ’s state Chairman, his 5th year in the role.
