Useful Facts Without Opinions – Brisbane's Economy
The Lord Mayor of Brisbane has just released his latest “Brisbane Economic Snapshot” and there’s some interesting stats on our city, perhaps surprising some of you:
- The Greater Brisbane Economy has a value of $146 billion (greater Bris takes in Ipswich, Logan, Redlands and Moreton Bay) with a population of 2.275 million
- This population is predicted to grow to 3.315 million over the next 20 years
- 1.16 million Brissy residents are employed with an average per capita income of $64,188
- Knowledge-based Services was the fastest growing key industry cluster over 2011-2014. This includes Scientific Research Services, Architectural Services, Legal and Accounting Services.
