Brisbane's future & new infrastructure, Milton

Milton: Raising to new heights

The new Frew Park on Milton's tennis court site

Back in September, we told you that Milton was on its way up. With The Milton, The Westmark and the Siena apartments due for completion in 2015, the overhaul of Milton Train Station, and the new Milton City Cat terminal to be ready this year to whisk Miltonites from the foot of Park Road and Coronation drive to the rest of Brisbane. Last but not least with the Frew Park project underway; where the former Milton Tennis Centre and Milton Bowls site is currently undergoing a $12.67 million rebirth as an exciting new 3.5 hectare inner-city parkland.

The additional smaller projects to be delivered as soon as March will further raise the tone of the suburb with brighter lighting along Park Road, illuminating and defining the entertainment and dining precinct, new signage showcasing local events, new bike racks for the growing number of visiting cyclists and new street furniture for pedestrians breathing a new lease of life into the area.

Brisbane City Council is encouraging taller, denser development for Milton to allow the proposal of new office plans and further apartment blocks, whilst retaining it’s boutique style charm. The only way for Milton is literally, up, up, UP!!
