New cranes on South Brisbane skyline

The new “Capitol Apartments” on Peel Street are well underway, with yet another crane towering above our neighbourhood. With 77 apartments over 10 levels Capitol is one of a number of new residential buildings underway.

“Station 16” in Merivale Street is almost complete, the first residential apartments to be built in the northern end of South Brisbane since the 2009 completion of “South Central Apartments”. Also on Merivale Street the “Artisan Apartments” has its foundations being dug as we write. A couple of blocks down the hill and the site’s just been cleared over the past couple of days for the “Vine Apartments” on the corner of Russell and Cordelia Streets. Site works are underway for “Fish Lane Apartments” on the corner of Melbourne and Cordelia Streets, and developers have put at least two other sites in the immediate area under contract for near-future projects.

Sales are strong in these projects, shrugging off the quieter market with a promising story of South Brisbane’s enviable location. It’s one of the busiest periods we’ve ever witnessed in the inner-south and we look forward to the final results.
