Orchestra's 2006 finale
The Queensland Youth Orchestra’s 2006 Finale will feature at QPAC’s Concert Hall on Saturday October 28th when five hundred musicians take to the stage. Seven QYO orchestras and ensembles perform with members of the Queensland Youth Symphony, the 2nd and 3rd Queensland Youth Orchestras, the Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Junior String Ensemble and Big Band.
QYO is based at the Old Museum building in Bowen Hills (you wondered what that was used for now didn’t you!) and is the State’s major orchestral training and performance organisation for young musicians aged 10 to 23. Under the artistic leadership of John Curro AM MBE since 1966, QYO is renowned as a world-class youth orchestra organisation.
The mighty Klais Organ will feature in the night’s Finale of Saint-Saens’ Symphony No. 3. A great opportunity to enjoy a night out and support our state’s youth.
